Tropical storm Leon may intensify into a super typhoon according to Pag-asa

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, Severe Tropical Storm "LEON" {KONG-REY} was estimated based on all available data at 665 km East of Echague, Isabela or 655 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (17.3 °N, 127.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h and gustiness of up to 135 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 10 km/h.

Leon's rainbands are expected to unleash intense to torrential rains and strong winds over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Cagayan. Additionally, moderate to intense rainfall may affect parts of Northern Luzon, as well as the MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Negros due to the storm's trough.

Residents in affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the situation develops.
